DP Print is owned by Brian du Plessis and is a small-to-medium sized operation nestling inconspicuously among homes in a mainly residential area in Florida, on the West Rand.
DP Print is a family business with sons Brian Jnr and Kevin both PIFSA-trained and qualified members of the operation. His wife Petro and niece, Sarah are also involved in the day to day running of the business which incorporates the production of upmarket print material, including annual reports, flyers, posters and packaging covers. DP Print also does short-run colour work on the Bizhup C6000 from Konica Minolta.
DP Print started operating in August 2007. Prior to that Brian was allied to a major print business which folded and so it inspired him to start his own company.
We started with a Heidelberg MO 4 colour printing press and a Heidelberg
Kord 64 single color press.
In 2008 we acquired a new Screen Platerite 4300, state of the art CTP
We gradually evolved and 1 year later upgraded our MO to a Heidelberg, SM74
– 5 colour press.
Only 2 years later in March 2011 we more than doubled our output by
installing a Heidelberg SM102 – 5 colour with a coater & in May 2011 we
installed a new Screen Platerite 8600, another state of the art CTP system
to supply plates for the new press.
In December of 2011 we moved into the digital market with the purchase of a
Konica Minolta Bizhub C6000 press.
